Finally ‘Dream Girl’ of Bollywood, Hema Malini will soon get her long awaited birthday gift from hubby Dhramendra. She recently turned 59, on October 16, 2007, and has been promised a vacation on her birthday by Dharmendra. As earlier planned, the couple was scheduled to leave for the vacation before October 16. But due to some important work the couple is still held in Mumbai and had to postpone long-due birthday gift, which made them celebrate the day by a small private party with near and dear ones at home. On being asked about her special birthday gift Hema said:

Hema, mother of two grown-up daughters still steals all the shows with her acting and good looks, is glowing on hearing the vacation news. She accepted that indeed this gift has made her birthday happier than earlier ones she had in her entire life.

Suniel Shetty has opted out of Vipul Shah’s ‘Singh is King’ and now the role has been pocketed by another fabulous actor, Sonu Sood.

Sonu confirms the news and says:

Vipul called me from Australia and offered me a great role in this film that Anees Bazmee is directing. We finalised the details once he got back in town. For me, it’s an opportunity to do something different, given the comic element. Also being a Vipul Shah production it’s bound to be a lavishly budgeted glossy.

Though Suniel reasoned taking his hand off the project due to date problems but Akshay Kumar is being rumored as the main reason behind the exit. Reportedly, Dino Morea too was approached for the same role earlier but he refused.

As far as the plot is concerned, GOAL - a contemporary story of the Asian community in UK is about Southall United, a football club going through major crisis (no sponsors, no spectators and most importantly, no coach) which builds enough courage to nurture the hope that it will win the cup this time and give a blow to the mean headed Anne, head of the city council and Johnny Patel, a sports commentator, who conspire to acquire the land that belongs to the club.

Shah Rukh Khan after four months of hard work has opted out of South director Shanker’s thriller ‘Robot’. Earlier SRK was to produce the film through his Red Chillies Entertainment and also play the lead in it as a super hero.

He explains:

We were not happy with few things, among them being the fact that his take on the film was completely different from mine. It was amicably done and there is no bad blood.

Having earned a lot of time as a result of his pulling out of ‘Robot’ SRK is utilizing this valuable period socializing. He recently played host to the business tycoon Mr. Mittal, who dropped at Khan’s residence for a cup of tea after they met in a party.

Bollywood’s scandalous actor Salman Khan will today appear before the principal bench of the Rajasthan High Court in connection with the 1998 chinkara poaching case.

Salman, who was released on bail on August 31, will attend the hearing on his review petition challenging the Jodhpur District and Session Court’s five years imprisonment judgment. Salman was convicted on April 10, 2006. The court also imposed a fine of Rs 25,000 on him.

According to the prosecution, Salman had killed a Chinkara (deer) in the Ghoda Farm area on September 28, 1998.

Subhash Ghai’s offbeat flick on terrorism titled ‘Black & White’ completed its last schedule on the 22nd of October in Mumbai. It revolves around the life of a terrorist and his fifteen days journey to accomplish his only that changes his life forever.

The flick stars Anil Kapoor as an Urdu professor along with Shefali Shah. Ghai also introduces a new face this time. Anurag Sinha plays a suicide bomber along with Aditi Sharma as the lead pair.

Sukhwinder Singh has given the music. The screenplay is by Akash Khurana and Sachin Bhowmick. The music is set to release in November and the movie by the end of January.
