Men have tears in their eyes too. Even 'tough men' cry.
It has been admitted at last, and by none other than our very own Bobby Deol.

According to the younger Deol, men too have an emotional facet in their characters, but refrain from expressing it as men are 'conditioned' not to show emotions.
Men are ashamed of tears in their eyes due to a socially accepted preconceived notion that says masculinity is synonymous to lack of emotions. A boy is always taught not to cry, not to express too much emotion, at least not in public. Thus the jargon - 'Be a Man'.

But Bobby, as he says, is not a man who hides his emotions because of his gender.
In an interview published in the Mumbai-based DNA newspaper on Tuesday, Bobby said, -
Men get embarrassed to cry, thinking it's not manly. But we can't hide our emotions. We can't live (behind) a facade.
Earlier this year, he had come up with a demonstration of his emotional self - his voice choking and tears running down his face, as he told the media how much his father Dharmendra meant to him, during a recent Bollywood awards ceremony in Yorkshire. It was IIFA Awards, where the Indian superstar Dharmendra received a lifetime achievement award.
Bobby Deol has starred in more than 20 Hindi language movies, the most recent of them being 'Jhoom Barabar Jhoom' (Swaying to music), which is about a man and a woman engaged to others but falling in love with each other.
He belongs to a family well recognized in Indian Cinema. Dharmendra, his father is a former superstar. His elder brother, Sunny Deol is an actor well known for action and romantic movies. His stepmother Hema Malini is a celebrated Bollywood actress, while his stepsister Esha Deol is an actress too.
According to Bobby Deol, being the son of a well-known actor, as well as belonging to a family so notable, it has been hard for him professionally.
It's difficult because audiences put a star son up there. So it's easier for them to fall than climb up
- he said.
Nevertheless, there is no regret in him concerning his parentage. As he admits, he is very close to his father and has no complaints. He said he is 'blessed' to be the son of such a father.
He's all heart
- he said about Dharmendra.

It seems that Bobby Deol values his 'heart' more than he values his muscles. Till date he has been known as one of the 'rough and tough' guys of Bollywood. This interview has revealed the sensitive man in him, a man of the 21st century, who sees the necessity of Emotional Intelligence in the psychological development of an individual, be it man or woman.
He also seems to be free from the orthodox mindset still present in the Indian society, which says that it is 'improper' for a man to shed tears when he is emotionally stimulated.
