The US based Indian filmmaker Mira Nair is all set to push Bollywood actress Tabu's name for an Oscar nomination this year. It is worth mentioning in this regard that Tabu has played a lead role in Mira Nair film "The Namesake".

In my opinion, Tabu can win the best actress award as Oscars because not only she is good in acting but also glamorous ad mysterious for western audience.
According to Tabu,
I am certainly nervous. I have never been able to hype myself or my work.
I totally agree with Tabu's statement. After watching 'Cheeni Kum', I was sure Tabu will hog the limelight in coming days, but instead she decided to take the backseat. Certainly, Tabu is not like Mallika Sherawat or Rakhi Sawant who want publicity at any cost.
The question now arises -- Will Tabu be the first Indian actor to win an Oscar?
I think Tabu has a good chance because she is amazingly brilliant, on par with any of her Western counterparts. Interestingly, role of Tabu was first offered to Rani Mukherji and then Konkona Sen Sharma, but both of them declined to do it, as they were not comfortable with the role.
