
Ram Gopal Verma is all arms up for his much talked about forthcoming movie, Aag. And Amitabh Bachchan is not Gabbar, he clarifies.
Aag, the remake of India’s biggest hit Sholay 1975 stars Amitabh Bachchan as (Babban Singh) Gabbar. He plays a character equivalent to Gabbar, who has the zeal, passion and gravity of Sholay’s legendary villain. Ram Gopal Verma feels that none other than Big B would fit in the role. Showing his utmost respect for Amitabh Bachchan, Verma says the re make of Sholay would not have been possible had Mr Bachchan not agreed to act.

The most famous movie ever made in the history of Bollywood and India, Sholay has everything typical that mega venture has. A splendid caste, appealing characters, strong story and script with intense human touch have made the film an ever-reminding one in the annals of Hindi movies. It is also the greatest commercial blockbuster till today. Modeled on the Akia Kurusaki’s Seven Samurai, Sholay has been inspirationatioal identification with every movie- goer in India. Therefore, the remake of such a legendary movie required a celebrated and expressive director like Ram Gopal Verma, who has a trail of success stories behind.
Though, not exactly the remake of Sholay, yet the story means serious business for Verma, with characters of the stature of Amitabh and Abhishek Bachchan (guest appearance-gypsy singer), Sushmita Sen, Mohanlal and Rajpal Yadav, Ram Gopal Verma ki Aag is fervently awaited. The wait will be over when the movie releases next week.
