It is rare that your competitor praises you. But, such strange things happen on earth only and it all happened with Gandhi-My father’s Kasturba. Yes, I am talking about Shefali Shah, who won accolades for her performance as Kasturba by none else than our own Rani Mukherjee.
After watching the movie, Rani called Shefali out of blue much to the astonishment of Gandhi’s Kasturba to congratulate her on her performance. For a moment, she must have thought that someone was teasing her but it turned out to be a reality.

Gandhi- My Father, produced by actor Anil Kapoor is the story of the less known son of the father of the nation, mahatma Gandhi, Hiralal, who spoils his life and goes against the virtues that his epitomized father lived for. As he spoils his life in alcoholism, love for his mother remains the same all his life. And this is the role that Shefali played for which she got accolades from all over. But, she says she wont let the performance go into her head and would strive to perform better everytime.
Shefali is a versatile actor, particularly suited to sensitive and serious roles. She has performed in a lot of serials on the television. Earlier to Gandhi-My Father, her most remembered performance was in Satya for which she received award for best supporting role. Even her brilliant performance as a tormented sexually assaulted Riya in Monsoon Wedding is worth acclamation.
My wishes with you Shefali.
