Bollywood stars can make everything appear glossy. The Ministry of Tourism will surely swear by the star power, which has brought them unprecedented gains. With Shah Rukh Khan and Hema Malini doing voiceovers for the light and sound show at Chittorgarh Fort, the show has become a major crowd puller. Besides the two timeless actors, ace singers Lata Mangeshkar and Rehmat Khan have also contributed their bit to the show.
Funded by the central tourism ministry and executed by the ITDC, the one-hour show being run by the Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation (RTDC) and Hindustan Zinc Limited on a partnership basis is drawing 1,000 to 1,500 visitors to the fort everyday. Although, the project has been completed with a whopping Rs.29 million, the first of its kind show in the state has already become a super hit with tourist – both international and domestic.
The show that projects the rich history of Chittorgarh, the capital of the erstwhile Rajput state of Mewar from the 7th to 16th centuries, is the latest measure being taken by the government in direction of boosting tourism. All the famous stories of romance, valor and chivalry of the bygone the era have been very beautifully gelled together in the show.

No voice can be more imposing or grand than the Big B’s which can be heard in the Son et lumiere shows at Chandragiri, Golconda and other forts in Andhra Pradesh.
SRK voice will be like the bleating of a lamb while Big B roars like a lion. For the grandeur and valour of Rajputs, Big B or even Om Puri could have been a good choice.
The tourism department is undermining the grandeur by using SRK.
