Shabana Azmi, the legendary actress known for her activist stands over the years is all set to join several eminent activists across the globe to head for the UN headquarters in New York to plead for food for the entire globe from 22 to 26 September. Few of the activitsts include the Brazilian prime minister and a Nigerian actor.
Going by the stands of the need for food to be in everyone’s plate, the adamant activist Shabana, says that the entire world will have one chant all the way ‘Put food on everyone’s plate’.
Getting serious about the need to eliminate hunger across the globe Shabana says,
” How can we think of making progress when everyone doesn’t get enough to eat? In fact people are still dying of hunger. After I finish at the UN General Assembly I’m going to Yale for a panel discussion. Finally I’ll be doing a panel discussion on the BBC on India’s 60 years of independence. It’s very simple, really. Food needs to be put on everyone’s plate.”
The UN General Assembly promised to erradicate hunger across the world by 2015 and not even 50% of the target has been achieved yet. Shabana Azmi, known for her acting skills and also her active participation to fight various evils in the world is the ambassador of the Action Aid and will definately put her more than 100% in achieving a hunger free world.
