Choreographed by Ganesh Hegde, Shilpa Shetty’s debut musical, Miss Bollywood, will knock Berlin on September 29 to bring European audience closer to the magnificence, lavishness and true essence of the world’s largest film industry.
Winner of Celebrity Big Brother show, Shilpa asserted:
I am very excited and happy that I have been given this opportunity, I am extremely proud of doing this musical. Whatever I do, I should be able to justify and hope people enjoy it,
The 32-year-old Mangalore-born Shilpa Shetty said that until now in all the musicals connected with Bollywood including ‘Bombay Dreams’ all the actors were from outside Bollywood and this is for the first time a Bollywood actress has performed in a Bollywood musical that caters to an international audience.
In addition, for India, Bollywood is not new, but for Western market it is, and musicals will have a two-month-long tour of Germany, Holland and the UK.
However, Shilpa will perform at the famous Royal Albert Hall in London on December 12 but when asked that why the musical produced by Farhath Hussain will first hit Berlin, Shilpa said:
We got the suitable venue in Berlin at that time. Besides, Germany is very proud and supportive of Indian dance and music.
Bond girl Shilpa is well known for her dancing abilities in the sphere of Bollywood flicks and now she is all set to put the international stage on fire with her musical show.
When asked about her future projects, the actress asserted that she has commenced her own production house, S2 Production and very soon a DVD on yoga will hit our shelves sometimes in December this year.
She further asserted:
I will be starting my next Bollywood movie in January,” she said. Sunny Deol will be directing it, after his successful maiden venture, Dillagi.
