Sarkar 2, slated to release this year, is the much hyped project of Ram Gopal Varma’s factory. Varma, who almost runs a parallel cinema to the industry, is on a sequel trail after the ambitious Sholay2. The cast is Bollywood glitterati with Big B, Abhishek Bacchan and Aishwarya Rai donning the prime roles.
The movie shows the passing over of mantle from the father (Subhash Nagre aka ‘Sarkar’) to the son (Shankar Nagre) and Aishwarya Rai is believed to play the role of a manipulative daughter-in-law in the movie.
For Ash-Abhishek, who have worked in movies as Dhai Akshar Prem Ke and Kuch Na Kaho earlier, it is impromptu replay of their marital union. The movie will stoke the cinder of the present off screen Ash -Abhishek pair hype. As for Amitabh Bacchan, the movie will provide his fans with one more strong character performance. Sarkar was said to be an inspirational ‘Godfather’, Sarkar 2 is said to be remodeled on the sidelines of ‘Godfather II’.
The movie is said to have the incorrigible obstinability of the characters with the metamorphisis of the next generation Czar (Abhishek Bachhan).
The movie speaks of shift of powers between the Nagres as the new patriarch handles the reign with his doting wife by his side.
Sources claim:
The plot has Aishwarya masterminding strategies to retain the family’s monopoly in different underworld businesses. Abhishek will be shown as falling back on his wife in times of crisis. Ash will be seen as a shrewd woman. However she is not a negative character, she loves her family and at the same time she can be ruthless when it comes to dealing with wayward characters.
Sarkar 2 has the advantage of having Varma’s intricate story telling ability and taut plot. The movie is already a hot-pot seconding to a huge hit Sarkar but the big question is can it revamp the magic?
