Sanjay Jha's Strings condemned by sadhus

Nishtha TaposhJul 14 2006

Sanjay Jha's 'Strings: Bound By Faith', is in the middle of a controversy due to a PIL registered by some Sadhus of Allahabad over a song in the film.

The song titled 'Mantra', is originally a poem written by Baba Nagarjun in 1969. The poem was banned for sometime in 1977. But Jha claims the piece of literature to be very important as many scholars might have done PhD on it.

The controversial lyrics speak about the drawbacks in the democratic set-up.

However, the Censor Board has passed the film with a U/A certificate and Jha challenges that he won't delete the song from the film.
