The cross over connection seems to gain ultrasonic momentum with many Bollywood stars turning west and Akshay Kumar makes a latest astonishing addition to that list. The Actor known for his Machoism and drop dead action skills in Bollywood is all set to act with Mexican beauty Salma Hayek.
The whooping $100million deal between the Indian talent agency Carving Dreams Entertainment (CDE) and Hollywood Studios International, a Hollywood based Entertainment Company. CDE has many clientele including Hrithik Roshan, Ajay Devgan, Kajol, Irrfan Khan, Bipasha Basu and Isha Sharvani. It is the first big deal which an Indian company has signed with a Hollywood Studio.
The deal has been struck between the Carving dream’s Afsar Zaidi and Neeraj Bahl ;and Mr. Saxton of Hollywood Studio International with the mutual responsibility of both the companies to initiate many Hollywood-Bollywood joint ventures in future with many brandishing names from both the industries.
Saxton affirms:
‘For an Independent production house, where low budgets average from $10-15 million and go up to 30 million, this is a significant investment.’ HSI will also be adding Hollywood stars, having its writers re-write scripts for international audiences. ‘It has an appeal similar to that of ‘The Italian Job’, which did very well internationally.’
Actor Irrfan Khan is also believed to be a part of the project. Both Akshay and Irrfan have assented to the project but Salma Hayek is yet to give it a flag-off.
