Ramu admits to stealing idea

HemRaj SinghSep 24 2007

So, Ram Gopal Varma is now record telling the truth - that he a thief of ideas. Curiously enough, he tries to give it a philosophical covering, cleverly saying that we all are born with blank minds and every idea comes from some book or film or somewhere. So, did we never have any original idea at all ever since man started thinking? Perhaps, RGV wants a copying license with high sounding justifications. Theft by any means whatsoever is theft, no matter how well justified it is. Being 'inspired' however is not theft at all because the originality in the expression remains even if the idea germinated elsewhere. No problem there at all, Ramu ji.

Steal to your heart's content, but we hope you do not mess up the legendary movies like Sholay the way you recently did. Copy sensibly. Make remakes but kindly do 'make' them. Just don't 'unmake' or spoil the already well made ones. That much can be legitimately expected of a responsible director.
