Rakhi Sawant sets the screen ablaze, however, this time the flames seemed too hot for her to handle. Rakhi was shooting for Budha Mar Gaya, when her skirt caught fire. She escaped without any burns. She was shooting in Hyderabad and the song sequence was around a funeral pyre. The pyre was not supposed to be lit, but later it was found that a graveyard worker had lit the pyre by mistake.
Director Rahul Rawail explains:
We were filming a song sequence in a graveyard dotted with pyres. The one that served as Rakhi’s stage was not supposed to be lit. But all of a sudden we saw a small ball of fire erupting. We panicked but fortunately she didn’t get hurt.
Budha Mar Gaya is Rakhi’s debut as an actor in main lead. In the movie, Rakhi plays a struggling actress and anyone she sleeps with dies. The movie’s genre is comedy (black comedy, as they say).
While, Rakhi was busy making dance moves, fire ball struck her skirt and reduced it to ashes. The whole movie unit panicked but Rakhi seemed to be least affected. She changed costume and resumed the shooting. Professional Attitude!
