A computer engineer by profession and an actress by passion, Hyderabad born Payal Rohatgi is not only a ’sex’ symbol in the tinsel town but also known for her ability of finishing of complex song sequences in just one day. Now, that some hard work!
Her item numbers have made her famous enough but her confidence and ability to wrap up her work in one day have left everyone in awe. She is a true Scorpio with firm determination and strong will power.
Starting her foray into Bollywood movies in Ye Kya Ho Raha Hai, produced by Harry Baweja, directed by Hansal Mehta, Payal became popular with her sensuous performance in an item song in Madhur Bhandarkar’s film Corporate the song O Sikander became a big hit in 2006 due to which she started doing a lot of shows.
Now its Priyadarshan film Dhol where she plays a substantial role as Sophie, the second lead heroine opposite Arbaaz Khan. A trained kathak dancer, she carried of her role as a club dancer quite well.
But, the most praiseworthy aspect of her work in Corporate and Dhol was that Payal managed to complete the shoot for the song sequences in a single day. She considers that an upcoming actress like her should take her work as a challenge and must be ready to give her best even if there is no opportunity for rehearsals. But ofcourse, she doesn’t want the producers and directors to take it for granted that she would wrap up all her work in just one day though she is confident that she can perform in any given situation.
With a new look in Dhol, minus her loud make-up and garish clothes, Miss India 2000 finalist, Payal Rohatgi is definitely roaring to go a long way in Bollywood.
