Now one can revive the memories of Anarkali and Prince Salim’s saga in an exclusive museum that is being set up in Park Street, London. The museum in collaboration with late K. Asif’s son Akbar Asif and exiled artist M.F Hussain will showcase the greatest Bollywood classic film Mughal-e-Azam through Hussain’s colored art.

The museum will have 51 huge canvasses which are being designed by M. F. Husain and are inspired by K.Asif’s Mughal-e-Azam. These canvasses will be put on walls and ceiling will also be given a special design that will be related to the film. The interiors of the museum will be as of a Jaipur palace. Husain who has completed some half of his work was approached during 1950 by K. Asif to paint some special posters of film. Way back in 1950’s Hussain used to be a hoarding painter.

Currently Husain is residing at the same penthouse where he is working on the project and has converted the whole living room into his workshop.

A colored version of Mughal-e-Azam released in 2004 was also a success as its original black and white. The original film released in 1958 took nine years to complete and was the most lavish production for its time.

Ther’s been a buzz that Hussain may remake the film with K Asif’s granddaughter in the main lead.
