After Raghu Romeo and Mixed Doubles, Rajat Kapoor is all set again with his latest offering Mithya, starring Naseeruddin Shah, Ranvir Shorey, Vinay Pathak and Neha Dhupia.
This film deals with the life of an aspiring actor VK, who gets to play a gangster but finally ends up being a pawn in the hands of a real life goons. In a press release Neha Dhupia commented on her experience in Mithya,
This film is definitely different film form all that I have done before. The film entertains but in a meaningful manner. Of all the films that I have done Mithya is my top two best
With Rajat Kapoor around you could at least expect a brand new way of thinking. His characters are very much known to all of us. The desperate, common daily life tries to take refuge in the wonderland. After struggling throughout the day he tries to find peace in his own world, his dreamland, where he is the boss. With Raghu Romeo, a person having a miserable life working as a waiter in a night club starts dreaming about saving a serial character. In mixed doubles, he deals with the middle class mentality, and tries to find an answer to the emerging problems of our daily life scenarios, where relations come to the verge of ending due to somewhat unexplored reason. He creates humor, but that ultimately teaches us some different thing. Recently even the characters he has played had something more to offer than just entertainment.
So, we can expect some very common things in our daily life explored in the movie, at the same time we should be ready to enjoy the underlying punch, and of course the brilliant analysis of characters in Mithya too. Ordinary films with low budget, dealing with ordinary people, presented in a humor coating, but they prove critically important and are most valuable in portraying the common man’s daily life. A very new brand of story telling, and the most original work; a deadly combination that is very uncommon these days in bollywood.
