Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Shivraj Singh has honoured renowned female playback singer Kavita Krishnamurthy with the 2005 Lata Mangeshkar Alankaran Award in the presence of a 30,000-strong audience.
An elated and excited Kavita revealed to the gathering that she has always idolized Lata Mangeshkar, and the Lata Mangeshkar Award was something that she would always cherish.
She confessed, ‘It is an unforgettable moment for me.’
The Lata Mangeshkar Alankaran Award was instituted in1984 and the late music director Naushad was the first recepient.
