Sunny Deol is changing his course. He has been known for his stern patriotic performances and specially for throwing heated dialogues against one chosen country. However, now it is time for him to calm down. His latest film ‘Kaafila’ has seen an evolved Sunny who plays the role of a Pakistani national involved in human trafficking. Kaafila has already seen some incidents that never happened before. Besides being the first ever Indian film to be released in Pakistan as simultaneously, Kaafila has seen trailers been censored, which is certainly a new event in any kind of movies all over the world. After the trailers, the Pakistani authorities are convinced that Kaafila does not contain any anti Pakistan message, and has allowed the film to be released in Pakistan as well on 10th August. Sunny has finally changed his stance. Dealing with illegal trafficking to UK and its possible effects on society, Kaafila is certainly going to be a different kind of film altogether. While playing a Pakistani character, Sunny is surely having a new challenge in his career. Till date his films were full of heated dialogues about patriotism and saving his country from cross border terrorism. Suddenly this radical shift leads to many speculations. Acting as a trafficking agent, who lures common people in emigration traps and then finally jeopardize their lives, this role will definitely demand a different kind of acting from Sunny.
The imagery shift was required for Deol. He was very much confined in a certain stereotype, and any attempt of doing something extra has proved fatal for him. Kaafila is certainly going to release a new Sunny Deol, a different person altogether. With fingers crossed for 10th August, he must be praying that people accept his new avatar with great enthuciasm.
