Kabir Khan’s directorial debut ‘Kabul Express’, which is about five individuals who are under hate and fear in Afghanistan is about to release this Friday.
The story is based on the personal experience of Kabir Khan with Rajan Kapoor who is the executive director of Kaabul Express in Afghanistan while making a documentary in 2001, when the Taliban was at its last stages.
The movie is about two Indian journalists Jai Kapoor (Arshad Warsi) and Suhel Khan (John Abraham) in Afghanistan, when they come to take an interview of a Taliban leader.
There these two meet an Afghani Khyber (Hanif Hum Ghum) who becomes their guide and translator as well. He drives them all around in Afghanistan in his Toyota jeep, Kaabul Express.

The story begins now with their share of adventure, when they are taken to the secret hideouts of the Afghani Mountains for the interview of the Taliban leader. On their way, they struck in between the horses during the shooting of the game Buzkashi (a rugby game played on horses with a dead lamb). They are almost ready to be trampled by the horses, but an American photo Journalist Jessica Beckham (Linda Arseno) saves them from being trampled.
After making all the attempts, Jai and Suhel are unable to find the Taliban leader for the interview. A new thrill begins as one of the Taliban fugitive, who wants to return to his country Pakistan, kidnaps them. On his way, he also takes Jessica hostage.
The kidnapper, Imran Khan Afridi (Salman Shahid), is a Pakistani soldier, is a part of the Taliban. He knows that if Afghans get hold of him, they would not spare him. He is aware of the fact, that he is safe with Jai and Suhel, as both of them are journalists, and no one would raise any questions to their movements. He poses as their local guide so that he can reach his country safely.
All the five individuals face a life-threatening situation in their two days journey from Afghanistan to the disturbed border of Pakistan. They are forced to act as a team and their experience changes at the end of the journey. All four of them decide to save Imran to reach the border of Pakistan.
Still there is mystery ahead as the political situation has to do something in their way. The movie is full of thrills, which puts light on the life of real journalists. Kaabul Express brings a different determination in Bollywood by showing the real life aspect and relation of a journalist and an individual of a terrorist troop, Taliban.
