Johnny Depp widely known as Jack Sparrow for his Pirates of the Carribean series now plunges into the sea of Bollywood industry. With Mira Nair’s up coming venture ‘Shantaram’, Depp is all set to act as well as shake some moves in his Bollywood debut opposite Bollywood superstar ‘Big B’. Johnny Depp is confirmed to dance in a song composed by Vishal Bhardwaj. Mira Nair has requested Vishal Bhardwaj to make four tracks with Sufi touch and one Bollywood masala song. A source close to the crew of the film said:
Most of the shooting is likely to take place in the studio and very little of it may happen at actual locations. Depp, it is learnt, may arrive in India after Christmas for the shooting of the film. Mira Nair has asked Amitabh Bachchan who plays a pivotal role in the film to block his dates for the film at that time.

The film which is based on the famous book by Gregory David Roberts, is about an Australian bank robber and a heroine addict who escape from Pent ridge Prison and come to India to live in the Dharavi area of Mumbai where Kader Bhai (Amitabh bachchan) becomes their mentor and father figure. Irrfan Khan and Shah Rukh Khan are also expected to play very important roles in the film.
The film which would witness the coming together of two great actors from Bollywood and Hollywood is likely to start it’s shooting by November this year. With projects like ‘Marigold’ starring Bollywood actor Salman Khan and Hollywood actor Ali Larter, it seems that the two big industries are on their way towards a filmy globalization!
