For all those fans of the Chote Nawab, news has it that the superstar is turning producer for one simple reason — being to be ‘more creative’. Saif Ali Khan one of Bollywoods most sought actors has claimed that he would love to make movies in different genres be it period, murder, mystery, etc.

Saif’s intentions though are very clear. The actor is not producing and making movies for the Moolah factor but to satisfy his creative juices. His partner in production would be dear friend Dinesh Vijen whose duo claims to make movies which otherwise people would not opt to make.

For his production Dinesh will be the financial source while Saif will deal with all the creative material involved. According to the superstar a production house like Yashraj Films are very clear about the movies right from the scratch. The actor goes by their standards and methods of going about making a successful film. In regards to this Saif says,

My first film Parampara was with Mr Yash Chopra. So I know his style of working. Over the years I’ve been working with Yashraj. So it isn’t as though I’ve begun to swear by them all of a sudden. What do I tell you about some of the other people who come to me with assignments?

They don’t even have scripts. Some of the old producers are so resistant to change while the whole industry has moved on. Yashraj is so clear-headed about its intentions and motivations.

The actor though feels that he has somehow gained the power to refuse to work with the Yashraj banner without giving wrong signals to the makers. He is delighted with this status that the production house provides him. Sources say that there are many stars who fear to reject a Yashraj offer with the belief that opportunity knocks only once at everyones door.

The actor is very particular about the choice of movies he does. Saif believes that over these years he has learnt how to choose between projects and choose according to his instincts. The actor yet again comments saying,

I’ve heard stories about stars reluctantly doing Yashraj Films because they can’t say no to them. I still have the power to veto the project. I hate to be where I don’t want to be. I do say no to projects I don’t want to do. But some producers want me to re-think after I say no. But now I know how to say a firm no. If you see someone spitting in his own living room you obviously won’t have any respect him.

So, for all those cinegoers its time to see an actor with a thought process and with the intention of making creative movies and not movies that want to cash on the box office.

A general belief here would then be that any movie which kicks off with the intention of satifying one’s creative thought process and entertaining the audience in various forms will undoubtedly sweep the box office without even caring much about the reviews.

Only time, though, can tell if Saif Ali Khan’s intentions stick to what he believes and whether his collaboration with dear friend will provide Indian cinema with some films to boast about.
