Indian government is suddenly showing its concern for Indian film Industry. That's what assurance of our Information and Broadcasting Minister P R Dasmunsi highlighted.

During the inaugural speech at IFFI 2006 Information and Broadcasting Minister P R Dasmunsi said that the government is working hard these days to formulate a policy before the next budget in order to be connected with of Indian film industry and address their concerns as well.
P R Dasmunsi said:
The government does not give any thing to the film industry but the industry gives a lot to the government in terms of revenue...
Minster disclosed during his speech that the government had set up a major committee two years ago that will address various issues concerning film making like easier finances for films, tax concessions, piracy, export duties and organizing of film festivals.
The committee has to submit its report by January 2007, exactly, after which this policy will be structured.
Seems government is out of a blue too benevolent and compassionate towards the film industry, reasons are yet unknown.
