Every successful film is followed by a sequel now-a-days. And to maintain the tradition, director Anurag Basu is all set to start shooting of his Metro's sequel - Metro 2.

If sources be counted upon, the Krishh boy Hrithik Roshan will be cast in the movie. If that is true, Metro 2 will be second sequel film played by Hrithik; prior to this, the bollywood heart-throb has worked in Dhoom 2 (the sequel of Abhishek-John-Uday starrer Dhoom).
The director is on his toes to complete the project as soon as possible. The script is in progress and it is estimated that the flick will hit the theaters later this year.
When asked about what inspired him to make this movie, Basu replied,
Metro is currently running in its seventh week and has just finished a 50-day run at the box-office. Even the comments we have received have been quite encouraging. We were really excited at the idea of making a sequel to Metro. Sanjeev Dutta, my writer and I are busy tying up the script at present. Rest of the things will fall in place after that.
Also, he told us that Rakesh Roshan once expressed his son's wish to work with Anurag since Hrithik and Rakesh were both really impressed with his work.
The vice president of UTV Motion Pictures, Ram Mirchandani said that Metro 2 would start where Metro ended. They are planning to set up the film in either Delhi or London.
