Dostana is a hit in the overseas market in its very opening week. The film opened just a couple of days ago and is already credited with a record opening in UAE, even surpassing the figures of Akshay-starrer Singh is Kinng. The UK and US box office has a similar story to tell about this film.
Besides the trio of Abhishek Bachchan, John Abraham and Priyanka Chopra, it seems the gay element in the film has helped the film click well with the overseas audience. Whatever be the reason but the verdict is out and Dostana is a super-hit.
Lets take a look at the opening weekend collections of the three major overseas box office. In UK, the film managed to gross £330,000 in the opening weekend. The figures for the US and UAE collections are $442,000 and $597,000 respectively. That’s some achievement! And this goes on to prove that friendship is a subject that will never go damp at the box office.
