
Ranbir Kapoor has been making his presence every where ever since the news was broken out that yet another Kapoor is set to make a mark in the film industry. The Saawariya star launched the Hindi version of ‘Raj Kapoor’ a compilation of memoirs on the icon’s personal and professional life, authored by Ranbir’s aunt Ritu Nanda.
The English version of the book ‘Raj Kapoor’ was launched in 2002 but failed to serve the purporse, hence a hindi version had to be launched. Raj Kapoor known as the showman has in his era entertainment the masses to a great extent. For making the book affordable to the common man prices of the Hindi version of the memoirs has been reduced comparatively.
Accepting it as a great opportunity to launch grandfather’s book Ranbir Kapoor said,
I don’t have words to express how proud I feel on being Raj Kapoor’s grandson. I’m here today because of him. He showed me the way.
Ritu Nanda, daughter of Raj Kapoor takes this as an honour to pay tribute to the greatest showman in the industry of all time. She took over a decade to pen down the book finally where she spent a lot of time researching every aspect of the life of Raj Kapoor.
In an acceptance of this honour and pride the Kapoor lady said,
Being a daughter I feel I am fortunate that I’m paying this tribute to my father. It’s a very emotional moment for my family. The book is for those common men who used to see my father’s films and wanted to know about him. It will be sent to 428 railway stations all over India.
The Kapoor’s feel that though Raj Kapoor who is not physically present in the family, his work and life will always keep him alive in many ways. With yet another Kapoor all set to keep up with the family name, Ranbir’s debut into the film industry set the tone for Ritu to say,
If Indian cinema has completed 94 years, the Kapoor family has been contributing to it for the last 80 years and now Ranbir will carry forward the legacy.
The launch was attended by Ritu’s husband Rajan, son Nikhil and daughter-in-law Shweta, Amitabh Bachchan’s daughter.
