Shahrukh Khan ranks first in fee category!
Bollywood stars are defining crores as the new lakhs of the Entertainment Industry. Bollywood, is offering its stars up to Rs. 100 million a movie (almost triple of the figures few years ago). The box-office credible stars are few in number and they encash the opportunity well.

Aamir ranks second
Shahrukh Khan tops the charts, with the actor asking for 7 crores for a movie. Aamir Khan, with a pretty straight face asks for 5-6 crore per film (and can be content with his usual one or two movie an year!). At no.3 is Salman Khan with 5-5.5 crores inflexible charge. Abhishek bags Rs. 2 crores as his standard fee per movie (all Actors’ figures as in year 2006).

Salman ranks third in the list
Siddharth Roy Kapur, chief operating officer with UTV Motion Pictures, a leading Bollywood production house, says:
The number of stars in the industry hasn’t increased in the same manner as the funds available for film production have increased. So it’s quite natural in a market like that the costs will go up
The Directors are sharing the booty as well. Director Sanjay Leela Bhansali pocketed 7 crores for Sanwariya and to say the least, he has a 12 crores project in pipeline!
Director Priyadarshan demands 4 crores for the movie and gets it almost immediately (nobody complains here).
The rich cousin, Hollywood, is still ahead with approx. $20 million pay- cheque to its stars but Bollywood is rapidly mending correctives.
The movie’s budget too has gone over from few lakhs to Rs.500 million, in the blockbuster category.
The only respite from the star hallmark pricey movies is the key ingress of concept films.
Till then Bollywood Stars will make hay merrily!
