Children of all ages now can rejoice because India’s next superhero is on its way. ‘Joker’ to be directed by Shirish Kunder, will feature the superstar Akshay Kumar in the main lead. Akhshay sought the role after Shahrukh Khan being Shirish’s initial choice. After the success of India’s first superhero ‘Krrish’, a lot will be expected out of Joker.
Shirish Kunder has finally confirmed that Akshay will be playing the coveted lead role. Though the lead is finalized Shirish is yet on the hunt for his super villian, a heroine and the good cop.
Like any other fully loaded effects movie Joker will be taking its own time with the pre-production activities. The movie will see its production kick start in January 2009. The time period from now and then will see the director put together a special FX team from the Hollywood.
Joker will surely set a new trend of special visual effects in Indian cinema and claims to be visually enriching than ever before. FX will be used in Indian movies for the first time and to ensure that every microsecond on screen is perfect director Shirish is investing almost two and half years in pre-production.
Though the lead has been confirmed the lady in concern to share screen space with superstar Akshay has not been finalized yet. Speculations are on though about Katrina, Priyanka or Vidya being granted the coveted role. Though nothing has yet been finalized Shirish though confirms that the heroine would need to be a terrefic dancer to be able to gain this role.
Joker will form a part of Kunder’s own production house Shirish Kunder Film Company. With wife Farah Khan expecting triplets and much anticipated movie of the year Om Shanti Om creating waves, Shirish has also been in the news recently for wrong reasons as well. With his misbehaviour at the latest Om Shanti Om party maligning his image in the eyes of every cinegoer only time can tell if his venture Joker can wash off all that negativity associated with his image.
