After Gandhi My Father has received praise from critics all over the country and abroad, Anil Kapoor is again eying for another project. This time it will be different from the previous one. After Gandhi, he is about to experiment in comedy. Though Gandhi my Father was not immensely popular, but he hopes it will get the momentum in next week. The film names ‘Shortcut’ will have Akshaye Khanna, Arshad Warsi, and Amrita Rao on board. Neeraj Vora, who directed Phir Hera Pheri and also wrote the many scripts for Priyadarshan’s comedies, will be directing Shortcut.
Anil himself will not be acting in this project due to his prior commitments.
In Gandhi my Father Anil has definitely shown us that he can do things in radically different way. Producing a film of that genre requires enough courage. Dealing with the most high profile Indian family of all time requires even more guts. Anil came out with flying colours in both the cases. Now it’s time to move on, and he is exactly on the correct track. Doing period films and documentary is good, but none would like to be stereotyped in that particular genre. So, when the Gandhi hype is on top, Anil decides announcing his next project. Quite interesting, as a veteran person like him will certainly not stop with comedy only. There must be some other meaning hidden inside, which will make the film even more attractive. From a person like his capacity, we do expect a lot of things. By experiencing his nature and trend of work, we are quite sure Anil will never disappoint us. Now it is a matter of time after which we’ll know what does he really have in his arsenal this time.
