Abu Salem, accused of masterminding a dozen bombings that ripped through Mumbai's commercial centre in 1993 killing 257 people, has tried to halt the release of the film "Gangster", as he says, it could influence court cases against him in Mumbai.

The Mahesh Bhatt film is set for release at the end of April and is the latest in a series of films about the Underworld. It stars Shiney Ahuja.
