Abhishek to get Ash finally

Supposed details about the Ash-Abhishek wedding have made the electronic media and the paparazzi go ballistic. And the big day has finally come. Bollywood is all geared up to rejoice the biggest marriage in years.

The wedding, where Aishwarya Rai weds Abhishek Bachchan, is on 20 April. Though the ceremony is not going to be a lavish affair, but its pre-information has been the talk of day for the past few weeks.

Apart from the Bachchans, Amitabh's brother Ajitabh and his family, Abhishek's sister Shweta and her in-laws which includes all the Kapoors, a few other guests are invited to attend the wedding. Among these are Abhishek's close friends like Sikandar Kher, Goldie Behl and Rohan Sippy. Close friends like industrialist Anil Ambani and politician Amar Singh, as well as fellow actors Kajol and her husband Ajay Devgan, Preity Zinta and Sanjay Dutt are among those invited to all functions. Karan Johar, who's like a son to the Bachchans, and J.P. Dutta whom Abhishek looks on as a father figure, are expected to be at the wedding.

The ritual is scheduled to be held at Bachchans' residence in Mumbai. Bachchan and Rai's wedding will be the film industry's first wedding, which has gone out of its way to keep the event a strictly private affair. An impermanent wooden arrangement has been built around the residence to make certain that no snooping eyes or cameras wreck the private moments for the family. Moreover, about 400 security guards will be on duty to keep strangers at bay.

The ceremony will set in motion in the afternoon with a procession head by the groom along the road between one of his bungalows, Jalsa, to another, Pratiksha, where the bride will be waiting for him.

The two will then tie the knot as per Hindu marriage rites. These consist of walking around the fire seven times signifying that the couple will reunite for the next seven births. Since this is a vital part of a Hindu wedding, the couple will do so at 1730 hours local time (1200 GMT), which is considered an auspicious hour on this particular day.

Eleven priests have allegedly been called in to perform the marriage.

Rai will be reportedly clad in a special outfit designed by Neeta Lulla, whereas Bachchan is thought to have opted for a collection created by duo Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla.

If reports are to be believed, the couple will not set out for a honeymoon given that Abhishek wishes to be close to his grandmother and spend time with her.
